MUSE 3.0

MUSE 3.0 is a bilingual examination course for those seeking Independent Practitioner (IP) certification from the Canadian Point of Care Ultrasound Society (CPoCUS). More info.

Participants can achieve certification as Acute Care CORE IP or Family Medicine CORE IP.

Participants work one-on-one with a CPoCUS IP certified examiner to complete all three examinations in 5-6 hours.

MUSE 3.0 includes:

  • Materials and instructions to prepare for the Written, Practical, and Visual CPoCUS certification exams in all 6 CORE modules

  • An examiner to proctor the Written Exam (approximately one hour)

  • An examiner to proctor the Practical Exam (approximately 1.5 hours) and a standardized female model (see below)

  • An examiner to proctor the Visual Exam (approximately 2.5 hours)

  • Instructions for issuing the CPoCUS IP certificate

Please note: Participants must provide proof that they have acquired the appropriate number of supervised scans prior to attempting the Practical and Visual Exams.

Please note: Participants may choose CORE IP Limited certification in one or more individual CORE modules according to their interests. More info. 

Cost

The registration cost for MUSE 3.0 is $899.

The registration cost is reduced to $799 if a participant has previously completed the Written Exam during a MUSE 2.0 course.

Participants may choose to provide a female model to scan for the Practical Exam. Alternatively we can organize a female model for an additional cost of $50.

Location

The course is held at a community health clinic with advanced experience in integrating POCUS into clinical practice. Participants will use top of the line ultrasound machines.
